- The circumstances of the crash of the China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 in March have been baffling from the start.
- The plane fell sharply to the ground near Wuzhou city in south China’s Guangxi region, and crashed into a mountainous area.
- Someone might have entered commands into the console on purpose.
Flight data indicates that someone in the cockpit intentionally crashed the plane, according to the Wall Street Journal.
In accordance with the Agreement on International Air Transport, the NTSB supports China’s investigations and also analyzes information from the flight recorder. The Wall Street Journal wrote that the Chinese authorities have not yet indicated possible technical problems, which is why investigators have focused on the actions of the pilots. However, someone could have gotten into the cockpit and made a deliberate crash. However, the American investigators did not have all the information that their Chinese counterparts had.
The CAAC does not comment on the content of the report. But in April, Chinese authorities denied similar reports, calling them false rumours.
