The Wall Street Journal wrote that the Chinese authorities have not yet indicated possible technical problems, which is why investigators have focused on the actions of the pilots. However, someone could have gotten into the cockpit and made a deliberate crash. However, the American investigators did not have all the information that their Chinese counterparts had.

The CAAC does not comment on the content of the report. But in April, Chinese authorities denied similar reports, calling them false rumours.
