04/29/2023 | (rsn) – The German U-23 team got off to a very good start in the Carpathians (2.2 marks). In the four kilometer team time trial in Budapest, the team led by national coach Ralf Grabsch was beaten only by victorious cycling team Friuli ASD and team Ecoflo Kronos.
The BDR quintet of Moritz Krecci, Tobias Back Gramko, Vincent John, Moritz Chasa and Max Merkel ended up seven seconds behind the winning team and ended up ahead of second division team Green Project – Bardiani CSF in the same time. Austria’s Tyrol KTM team finished fifth, eight seconds behind.
“It was good for us that we were able to get a straight result in the team time trial. That was also important for morale. We’ve had a lot of retirees lately, so it’s very good to set an example,” Grab told radsport-news.com. .
The national team coach hopes that Khamasi will take his momentum from the team’s opening experience to the next four stages so that he can achieve more good results. “Ideally, we will bring a driver to the top of the overall standings. That’s our goal and our goal too. I’m sure of that,” Grabsch concluded.
