Joy Jordison, co-founder of the band Slipknot, has passed away at the age of 46. The drummer was considered one of the mainstays of metal music.

Born in Iowa, USA musician or instrumentalist was one of the Three founding members of Slipknot The nine-piece American band helped them become world famous in the early 2000s.
Slipknot became known, among other things, for their stage costumes, horror masks and overalls as well as their dark aggressive music. Behind the drama and masks, there was also a tech-savvy troupe, backed by Jordison’s drumming and songwriting skills.
In 2013, the group broke up with Jordison
In 2006, the band won their first album for their third studio album with legendary producer Rick Robin Grammy. Jordison himself later said that his proudest moment was the 2010 Drums magazine readers’ vote “Rhythm” for the best drummer of the past 25 years.
In 2013, Jordison and Slipknot split. He himself said that he was thrown out the door.
It was later announced that he had been diagnosed with transverse myelitis, a neurological disease that also affected his ability to play. Jordison has said in interviews that he has been able to get back in shape with intensive physical therapy.
