The symbolic cornerstone of a three-storey service building has been laid. It could be completed in the summer of 2024.

Lollar (kilobyte). There was a lot of excitement at the gates of Hofgut Friedelhausen, because the symbolic ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the new building was to take place. Since the entire farm community always gathers for the morning round at this time, it was held there. Until recently, there was a barn for farming. Musical duo Blanca Vanier (violin) and guitarist Damien Schulz-Bruninghoff said goodbye to a soul piece from the klezmer group Ooms Nechome – Adams Trost. The song’s seemingly somber performance even brought one staff member to tears. But as the new building was greeted with a performance of a happy swing song (Lomir Tanzania – Let’s Dance), everyone’s anticipation for the new farm building grew.

Former managing director and acting director Milos Vanir explained what else will be built this year: a three-story farm building with much more space and brighter rooms. The kitchen, which has had its place on the farm since 1564, will move to the ground floor.

The time-honored atmosphere may be missing, but there will be more space and deliveries will be easier. Up to 100 meals are prepared fresh each day.

In the middle is the herbalist’s workshop, which of course is also used in the kitchen, but is also sold, as is the tea made there. A lift ensures that everyone has easy access to the common room and rest room on the second floor, and farmer Marko Boßhammer’s office will also be located there.

Together with the other two department heads (Silvia Riel of the Herb Workshop and chef Eric Schneider), he grabbed a spade for the symbolic opening ceremony.

Participants expect the floor slab to be finished by the summer holidays and hope the veneer will be finished by the end of the year. It is hoped that it will be completed in the summer of 2024.
