Indergand has twice charted in the top 20 in the United States

Indergand has twice charted in the top 20 in the United States

There was a lot new at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup at Snowshoe in the US state of West Virginia. However, spectators – especially drivers – did not find anything good in the new concept. As of this year, Discovery's US film giant Warner Bros is the new World Cup marketer, replacing Red Bull.

The road is very narrow and very “boring”.

Not only that, but the track was stretched and therefore very unattractive for spectators with only four laps instead of the usual seven. The beautiful village with houses decorated with flowers was also left behind. The reason given by the new organizers was that the start and finish arches were too large for the narrow streets of the village.

With such long laps, the short race resembled a “normal” cross-country race, and overtaking maneuvers were practically impossible. The road also has many narrow lanes and tight curves.

“The field of participants has moved closer together.”

Evie Richards won the race. Linda Indergand (Liv Factory Racing) finished 16th, just 36 seconds behind the winner. “I'm actually very happy with this result, because being 36 seconds behind the winner two or three years ago would have easily put me in the top five, if not the top three. Now the whole field of participants is even closer together.”

The best Swiss woman was Alessandra Keller in fourth place.

17th place on Sunday

As with the men's Jordan Sarro, there was also a first-time winner in women's cross country on Sunday in Laura Steiger. She bid farewell to her competitors in the third round and celebrated her undisputed individual victory.

Linda Indergand, who completely ruined the start, finished the race in 17th place, just behind Senna Frey and Alessandra Keller. The best Swiss woman was Jolanda Neff in fifth place.

The last World Cup races of the season will be held next Friday and Sunday in Mont Saint Anne, Canada.
