Riccardo Marinello caused a real surprise on Friday afternoon (April 14) at Limpecker Platz in Essen. In the middle of normal operations at the McDonald’s branch there, he suddenly started singing at the top of his lungs!
Essen: Marinello wants to get people interested in opera
The 34-year-old won the first season of the talent show “Das Supertalent” in 2007. Since then he has participated in several classical operas and concerts. As reported by “WAZ”, the musician has now made a name for himself on Tiktok with exactly the same procedures as in Essen. There he is appropriately called “the sudden singer” (German: “the sudden singer”).
“We’ve recently been thinking about how we can get more young people excited about this particular kind of music,” says Marinello. And his business manager, Chris G. Meyer, adds: “You have to keep up with the times, so the idea came to try videos of spontaneous singing performances in restaurants and bars and then post them on Tiktok.”

About two weeks ago, Marinello suddenly began picturing himself at a restaurant starting to sing. At first it cost him a lot to get over it. But the efforts paid off: the video received more than 28 million clicks in just a few days, and the feedback was consistently positive.
