Damien Ott leads, Samuel Geiger returns.

The start of the 117th Thurgau Canton Festival was not ideal for the hosts. Victory contender and defending champion Samuel Geiger had to deal with Werner Schlegel in first gear. Togenberg skillfully defended himself and twice freed himself from a difficult situation. The lane ended with no winners. Thurgau also missed second winner Dominic Schneider winning the first fight against Armon Orlik. So the two locals were pressured early on.

While Dominik Schneider subsequently defeated Lukas Lehmenmeyer and Thomas Koster by maximum scores of ten, thus climbing to third place in the standings, Geiger faced his second setback before midday. The 25-year-old from Torgau could find no recipe against St. Gallen’s defensive Florian Riggett. He was already narrow to get the final course qualification.

Winner at Kilchberg Damien Ott with offensive qualities

Kilchberg winner Damien Ott swung into the lead this morning. Toggenburg attacked and his offensive efforts were rewarded with three victories. With a score of 29.75, the 23-year-old is in first place after half of his workload. The other candidates lurk a point behind them and even more behind them. These are Dominique Schneider, Werner Schlegel, Marcel Rabsamen, Janick Fugensberger and Mario Schneider.

However, Armon Orlik of Graubünden had to retire with an injury. He sustained an unspecified back injury in second gear.
