13 dead, 40 injured in Thai nightclub fire

At least 13 people were killed in a fire in a nightclub near the Thai resort of Pattaya Friday night. More than 40 people were injured, some seriously.
Hell broke out by “Bangkok Post” After midnight at the busy Mountain Bar & Bistro nightclub in Sattahip, south of the entertainment city Pattaya on the country’s east coast.

Pictures and videos from the scene show people fleeing the burning building, screaming. Some of the fugitives caught fire.
After putting out the flames, rescue workers were able to enter the completely destroyed building. According to Thai media reports, there they found the charred bodies of 13 people – four women and nine men. According to current information, all the victims are Thais, the police said.
The cause of the fire is determined. According to reports, people tried to escape through one open door. Accordingly, the rear exit and emergency exits were closed. Additionally, the interior of the cabaret is said to have been lined with easily combustible foam panels for sound insulation. (bag)
