There have been many real estate rumors about Amal and George Clooney in recent years — and now another property owned by the couple may be on the verge. According to media reports, they will soon want to distance themselves from their property in Berkshire.

Hollywood star George Clooney, 62, and his wife Amal Clooney, 46, own some amazing properties in various countries. The most famous of these is Cluny's paradise villa at Laglio on Lake Como in Italy. The actor bought the dream home in 2002 and regularly welcomes important guests such as his good friends Brad Pitt, 60, and Matt Damon, 53, or Prince Harry, 39, and Duchess Meghan, 42. Not long ago, as of 2014, Clooney owns a villa in Berkshire, a British county west of London. But this property seems to be causing the star increasing distress lately.

Amal + George Clooney: Are Floods Too Much For Them?

According to the Daily Mirror, Clooney and his wife Amal have reportedly let go of their mansion, which they reportedly bought for the equivalent of €17 million. Residents told the British newspaper that the Hollywood star had not been seen in their town for months. Instead, the Clooneys want to stay at their property in the south of France, which George reportedly bought in 2021 for €7.5 million. Torrential downpours in Great Britain were said to be the deciding factor in the celebrity couple's elopement.

The land surrounding Clooney's luxury villa in southern England has flooded at least six times since he bought it ten years ago. In the past 13 months alone, the sprawling property's gardens, which include a fitness studio, swimming pool and home theater, have flooded twice. A flood warning remains in effect in the area. The level of the Thames is now twice normal following a particularly wet February.

Clooney's neighbors understand him

Neighbors of the Clooneys, interviewed by the “Daily Mirror” magazine, now fully understand why the star allegedly left. Rain over the past few weeks has made life “very difficult” in southern England. “We could use a little more warmth, so I can understand why George left,” says one resident.

George and Amal Clooney and their twins Alexander and Ella, who were born in June 2017, may have chosen rainy weather in February with temperatures of four to eight degrees Celsius over a comfortable life in their spacious mansion on the hilly Côte d'Ivoire. Asur changed. The property there is said to have been built in the 18th century and has ten hectares of vineyards, a pond and a tennis court.

The Clooney couple were last spotted soaking up the sun in Provence this month. In the municipality of Brignoles, where Clooney's property is located, temperatures in February reach a high of 17 degrees Celsius – and rainfall is largely absent.
