The aircraft manufacturer is strengthening its presence in Great Britain by establishing the Zero Emission Development Center ZEDC. It explores hydrogen technologies. The UK Center’s priority is to develop the competitive cryogenic fuel system needed to successfully bring Airbus’ Zero-E passenger aircraft into service by 2035, as well as to develop knowledge of UK capabilities and hydrogen propulsion technologies.
Zero Emissions Development Center completes work on Airbus ‘current research and technology track in the UK, as well as cryogenic liquid hydrogen tanks at Airbus’ current hubs in Madrid (Spain) and the State (Germany) (Nantes (France)) Germany) (Metal Structure Technologies). All Airbus ZEDCs are expected to be fully operational by 2023 and ready for ground testing, and aircraft testing will begin in 2026.
