Schweitzer watches the salmon – dangerous things are happening above it

On his journey across Canada, Nau.ch reader Philip M.* (32 years old) learns not only about the North American lifestyle, but also about the picturesque nature. He discovers sooner than he would like that this is literally amazing.

While he and his girlfriend were quietly watching salmon roam in Kokanee Creek Provincial Park (British Columbia), a ranger suddenly lunged at them. “Didn’t you see the bear?” he asks excitedly.

When Phillip looks up, his heart sinks.

The guard quickly knew how to reassure them: it was a bear cub who was at least as afraid of people as they were of him.

The next day, Philip observed the events again – this time from a safe distance. Keeping your distance this time turns out to be a wise decision. Because today the little black bear is not alone, but is learning to hunt with his mother.

Philip captured the scenes on his cell phone. After the huge shock he experienced the day before, he is looking forward to all the additional adventures that still await him on his trip to Canada.
