Hausler defeats Sashko

Marc-Andrea Hausler has reached the last 16 of the ATP 250 tournament in Hong Kong. After qualifying, the Swiss (ATP 194) won the first round with a score of 6:4 and 6:4 over the Ukrainian Vitaly Sashko (ATP 169). Hausler used two of three break points in the duel between two qualifying matches. When the 27-year-old managed to serve for the match, things got tough again: at 15:40, Hausler faced two break points, but saved both. In the round of 16, Hausler will face Borna Gogo (CRO) or Arthur Fels (France).

Sun survived the first round in her home country

Swiss Lulu Sun (WTA 214) reached the second round of the WTA Championship in Auckland (New Zealand). The 22-year-old left-hander defeated American McCartney Kesler (WTA 217) 6:4, 6:3 in a duel between two qualifying matches. For Sun, the success is special in two ways: On the one hand, her last win on the WTA Tour was almost a year and a half ago. On the other hand, New Zealand is the birthplace of the five-time tournament winner on the ITF Tour. Her opponent in the round of 16 is Russian Wavara Grachova (WTA 42), who plays for France.
