(Keystone SDA) More than 20 people were injured in a shooting on the sidelines of a parade honoring the Kansas City Chiefs, the American football team, according to police. Police Chief Stacey Graves said at a press conference in Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday evening (local time). These are exclusively gunshot wounds. The number of other injuries is still being determined. The fire department said several people were seriously injured. According to the police, at least one person was killed in the incident. Three people were arrested, Graves said. Only two arrests were previously reported. Graves stressed that the background to the crime is still unclear. “We have no intention at this point.”
According to official reports, the firing took place near the parking garage near the railway station. It was initially unclear if the crime was related to the victory march. The Kansas City Chiefs celebrated their fourth Super Bowl title with a big parade. All Kansas City Chiefs players, coaches and staff are safe, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said.
