Melbourne Germany and Australia have agreed to fund a joint Highgate hydrogen project. The Australian government announced on Tuesday that it would provide about 80 million euros in funding to accelerate the development of clean fuel collectively.
“The first recent report of our Australian-German study HySupply on the hydrogen supply chain shows that Australian hydrogen has great potential to meet growing demand in Germany,” said Australian Energy Minister Angus Taylor.
Germany wants to provide about 50 million euros to the alliance, while Australia has pledged the equivalent of 32 million euros. The partnership was first announced in June.
