Be ahead of Porsche in the world rankings! Who does not dream of it? But with this arrangement, one can do without it with pleasure. Cobra dethrones Porsche – among the top ten traffic offenders. Because drivers of the seat sports subsidiary are considered the biggest traffic offenders in Germany.
Here we deliberately choose the masculine form: because twice as many men attract negative attention on the street in Germany than women do. In terms of age, drivers are mainly young: most criminals are between 20 and 29 years old, of all races.
German points system
This is the conclusion of the evaluation conducted by the online portal Check24, as the German magazine “Auto Motor und Sport” wrote. The data is based on all users who obtained car insurance through the portal in the past year. The list shows the brands with the most drivers who collected points in the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg (D) in 2021.
This is a record of traffic offenders with a points system. Points are currently awarded for about 47 offenses, depending on the severity of the offense there is 1 to 3 points. At 8 points, the driver’s license disappeared.
This is where points are collected
In addition to buses, Germany also has a register of traffic offenders with a points system. The so-called Driving Proficiency Record (FAER) is administered by the Flensburg-based Federal Motor Transport Authority. This is why the slang term “Flensburg Points” is used in connection with traffic offenses. Not only residents of Germany are registered in the registry, but also foreigners who violate the road traffic law in Germany.
Since May 1, 2014, between 1 and 3 points have been awarded depending on the severity of the traffic violation. If you have 4 or 5 points, you will receive a warning, with 6 or 7 points there will be a warning, and from 8 points your driving license will be revoked – for Germany. With a warning or warning, traffic offenders also receive an invitation to a seminar on Competence in Driving. By attending this seminar every five years, one point can be reduced provided you have no more than five points in your account.
Entries are deleted in FAER after a certain period of time. This is the case after two and a half years for administrative offenses, after five years for criminal offenses and after ten years for administrative decisions.

Top ten traffic offenders
At the top of the traffic offenders is a cobra. 8.1 percent of German Cobra drivers have at least one point in their account. Thus, the Spanish sports brand Porsche was pushed back from first place. The traditional brand is now in second place, ahead of Jaguar, which takes third place.
Tesla drivers seem to have to get used to the crazy acceleration of their electric cars. The American electric pioneer ranks fourth before Alfa Romeo. The second half of the top ten was completed by Land Rover, BMW, Audi, Lexus and Chrysler.
Tell us what you think
Is this also true for Switzerland? Unfortunately, there is no similar evaluation here. But you may have noticed the brands and their drivers negatively. Write to us about which car brands and drivers you think are particularly reckless on our roads.
