After a clear 5-0 lead, we conceded three goals in the final third, but in the end we won clearly 6-3. Benjamin Lanzinger and Blaise Tomazevic each scored a brace!

For the first time this season, the “Eagles” started the match against the capital team with the full squad, that is, without any absences due to injury or illness. From the beginning, the Blue Team intensified their attack and were in a very good mood to play. Alexander Rauchwald had the best chance early, narrowly missing from close range to Capitals goalkeeper Sebastian Franschitz in the fourth minute. In the seventh minute, the time came and for the first time there was a cheer in the very well attended Villach town hall: Benjamin Lanzinger scored a stunning goal from the turn and while down to give the team a 1-0 lead. The Blue and White continued to press, repeatedly imposing restrictions on visitors in their own third. The next big chance came from Dylan McPherson, who shot from the high slot but narrowly missed the target. But Villach’s next goal did not take long: this time it was Marco Richter who used the rebound to make it 2-0 for VSV (12th place). The “Eagles” continued to control the match and raised the score: in the 15th minute, Blaze Tomazevic rose and moved away after a perfect pass from Mark Katic and lifted the puck wonderfully under the crossbar. But that was not all: in the 16th minute, Benjamin Lanzinger scored twice to make it 4-0, making the city council cheer again.

In the central section, VSV continued where they left off at the end of the first third, with violent attacks towards Vienna’s goal. The blue and white played magic, showed some great moves and continued to dominate the match. Kevin Hancock was unlucky at this point, as his only shot from the left half hit the crossbar. The Whites still had no mercy on Vienna: in the 35th minute, Blaze Tomaszevic made it 5-0, perhaps the early decision in this match. What’s more, they were unbeatable defensively, surviving two outnumbered games without any problems.

In the final section, the home team continued to be the clear superior team. And not only offensively, but defensively as well. They even survived an 81-second 5-on-3 without conceding a goal. But then Alexander Rauchwald and company changed the pace – and the result was a double shot from the Vienna team in the 45th minute: first it was Hampus Eriksson scoring 5-1 and two minutes later Evan Wenger, who made perfect use of the turnover. , shortened the score by going alone to 5:2. Another goal from the Vienna team by Rok Tekar and Robert Sabolek, who scored six goals for VSV, ensured the final score.
