For the fifth time in a row, the U20 World Champion comes from North America. After Canada won in 2020, 2022 and 2023, the United States won the title for the first time since 2021. In the final, the Americans won 6-2 in Gothenburg over host Sweden, which defeated Switzerland in the quarterfinals.
With a double strike in the 30th and 35th minutes, Isaac Howard made it 3-1 after 1-1. Sweden went close again shortly before the end of the second siren. But 3 goals in the final third meant that the decision was in favor of the United States, which won World Cup gold for the sixth time after 7 victories in 7 matches.
The Czechs get bronze
The match for third place was played publicly between the Czech Republic and Finland. The Czechs finally won after turning a 2-5 deficit into 8-5. They won the final third 5-0.
