Hardly any Hollywood star can avoid his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe these days. Nicolas Cage is an exception here and he has a unique answer as to why he’s not in the MCU.

Some movie stars make their way to the Hollywood A-League only to find themselves mired in the seemingly inevitable quagmire of cheap direct-to-DVD production. So did John Cusack, so did John Travolta, and at times it seemed that Nicolas Cage’s days on the big screen were over, too.

Indeed, contrary to expectations, Cage managed to star in blockbusters, in trash productions and in art dramas. His value is not measured by the success of his movies, Cage is a kind of spice that almost every movie could use!

It’s even more surprising when Nicolas Cage seems to avoid a certain genre. While this isn’t entirely true of the superhero genre, Cage has played Ghost Rider twice and has also been in “Kick-Ass,” but this Marvel Cinematic UniverseThe one that has been attracting every celebrity in Hollywood for years, has so far managed to do without a cage of vitamins.

This didn’t seem to bother Cage at all, as it did upon receiving it Variety Legend & Groundbreaker Awards betrayal. He also touched on the recurring discussion of whether Marvel films would take over and not leave room for smaller productions.

I have to be civil about the Marvel movies because I named myself after Stan Lee’s character called Luke Cage. What should I do, bad mouthed Marvel movies? Stan Lee is my surrealist dad. Name me. I understand what the frustration is. I understand you. But I think there is plenty of room for everyone. I see movies liketarI watch all kinds of art and independent films. A reporter, not yet satisfied with Cage’s testimony, directly asked the actor if he would be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cage’s response: “I don’t have to be in the MCU, I’m Nic Cage!”

In fact, Cage seems more interested in playing as diverse a role as possible, though the MCU could definitely benefit from a little Cage. Most importantly, though, is that the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Cage Cinematic Universe can coexist in harmony! Next we see Cage as Count Dracula in the vampire comedy “Renfield“.
