There is a huge demand for Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain in the United States. Jorge Mas, co-owner of Inter Miami, has revealed that his team will “push” to sign Messi.
Maas has hinted that David Beckham’s good relationship with Messi could help seal a deal.
“Leo Messi is still one of the best players in the world, his skills have not diminished. David has a relationship with him and if he leaves PSG we would like to see Lionel Messi as a player at Inter Miami,” Mas said.
Beckham, who founded Inter Miami with Mass in 2018, also commented on a possible move: “I have always said that I want the best players to play in our club and in our shirt because there are certain expectations.”
Beckham continued: “When I started this project, people said: ‘This guy is coming, this guy is coming, Ronaldo is coming, Messi is coming.’ At the end of the day, we have to win, whether it’s with the young players or with the stars.”
Messi only moved from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. His contract there runs until 2023. But so far, the 34-year-old has only been able to build on antiquity to a limited extent.
