European Union citizens who have been vaccinated will soon be able to travel to the United States again. US President Joe Biden (79) decided Financial Times reports Citing sources from the White House. The White House confirmed the information early Monday evening.
Accordingly, the strict admission requirements will be relaxed from November. After that, people from the European Union and the United Kingdom will be able to go back to the states provided they have been vaccinated twice. Since then, Swiss who have been vaccinated twice will also be able to travel to the United States again. This means that tourist trips to the US will be allowed again from November.
Entry rules unchanged since Spring 2020
“As of the beginning of November, foreign nationals bound for the United States must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination before boarding a flight to the United States,” White House Officer Jeff Zents told CNN Monday.
Former US President Donald Trump, 75, imposed strict entry rules at the start of the pandemic in the spring of 2020. Since then, only US citizens and immediate relatives or persons of national interest such as diplomats have been allowed to travel from Switzerland to the USA.
How controls are implemented and which vaccines are approved for entry into the United States are not strictly defined. (zis)
