Paul McCartney: The ex-Beatle magically hides his steely ambition.

The pillow fight took place in an American hotel when the Beatles performed for the first time on the continent whose musicians they revered. Paul McCartney recalls those early conspiratorial years of the English Quartet: “We were four laughing little boys.”
John Lennon is associated with founding Beatles and his friend and rival Paul McCartney with their dissolution. As is often the case, both processes were more complex. Paul was dominant from the start because he was a much better musician. On the other hand, John, the boldest and most daring, was the first to realize that the four of them wouldn’t last long together.
After the breakup, Paul McCartney was the first to release – by the way, a very bad solo album. A little later, he founded the band Wings, whose members were affiliated with him. He recently tried the same thing with the Beatles – thus angering his teammates more than himself.
The following photographs by Harry Benson show Paul McCartney at the beginning of his solo career: with his first daughter, with his first wife Linda, on a flight with wings – and with a mullet haircut, as they said then in the GDR: short front, long back.
