Jolanda Neff won the bronze medal in the title fights at Hudderslev. After 87.5 kilometers in a three-person big group race, the 29-year-old from St. Gallen in the Rhine Valley was defeated only by France’s Pauline Ferrand-Privaux and Britain’s Annie Last.

There is no grass to grow against Ferrand-Prévot

Ferrand-Prévot has achieved a perfect triple in the title with her second marathon world championship gold medal after 2019: the 30-year-old has already won gold at the world short-track and Olympic cross-country (pre-Neff) championships this year. After the gold in 2016, this is Neff’s second world championship medal at the marathon distance.

In the men’s competition, New Zealand’s Samuel Geese defeated Germany’s Andreas Seewald and local Simon Andresen. As the best Swiss, Mark Stutzmann ranked himself in the 20th place.
