Group A
Canada – Denmark 2:3 – After defeating Switzerland 6-3, the Canadians were eager to show a reaction against Denmark. This project erred. Austria – Great Britain 5:3 – Just as in Group A, there was also a showdown in Group B in their struggle against relegation. The British needed a win over Austria after 60 minutes to continue creating the miracle. It looked good for a long time, after 2 thirds a 2:0 lead, after 46 minutes 3:1. But with the knife on their neck, the Austrians really turned things around. Dominic Heinrich, Benjamin Nessner, Thomas Raffel and Peter Schneider turned the game around with their goals. Great Britain was relegated to the first division.
United States – Czech Republic 0:1 – The duel for third place and an early qualification for the quarter-finals became a close affair. The Czechs won the match 1-0 over the United States and got their ticket to the knockout stage. The winner of the match was Matej Blummel with a goal in the eighth minute. Americans can complete the payment up to the last eight on Tuesday. One point against Norway is enough to advance.
