back dam–Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Wiedek and Economy Minister Jörg Steinbach (both Social Democrats) will travel to the United States starting Sunday for talks with US companies. It is important, especially in these times of crisis, to strengthen international economic relations, Woidke said Thursday in Potsdam. During his visit abroad, scheduled for next Saturday (23 September), he wants to promote Brandenburg as an industrial site.
In addition to political talks in Washington, a meeting is scheduled with representatives of electric car manufacturer Tesla. It was clear if Tesla chief Elon Musk would participate as well.
There should be a talk in Washington with Boeing’s senior management – according to the state chancellery also against the background that Germany is buying 60 Chinook helicopters. Some of these helicopters are to be stationed at the Holzdorf site on the borders of Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg.
US arms group Lockheed Martin and business jet maker Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation are also slated to visit. Woidke and Steinbach also want to talk to Rolls-Royce representatives. Rolls-Royce is based in Dahlewitz. Lockheed Martin will deliver new combat aircraft to the German Armed Forces.
