White Whale Spotted Off Australian Coast – Is It Huge?

A rare white on the coast of Queensland in Australia Whale was viewed. The question that worries experts is: Is the mighty marine mammal world famous? MikaloWho hasn’t seen since 2020? Researchers think this is possible. Macquarie University wildlife biologist Vanessa Pirotta was quoted by 9News as saying, “It could be him, but it could also be another white whale from the East Australian humpback whale.” However, white humpback whales are not very common.

The sea giant was photographed from the air near the Whitsunday Islands on Friday, and he sent his video to the White Whale Research Center. The center has been collecting information about Mikhaloo for years. A white whale had already been spotted a few days earlier – it was the same animal, Pirotta explained. The video does not provide enough information to clearly identify Mikalu.

Mikalo lost the tracking chip – no trace for three years

Born probably in 1986, Mikaloo was first seen in 1991. Later he regularly appeared on the way from the Antarctic to breeding grounds on the Great Barrier Reef and among curious visitors. To protect the animal from many visitors, the Queensland government placed the whale under its special protection. However, after losing his tracking chip, Mikalu has been missing for three years.

Last year there was a brief period of concern after the carcass of a white whale washed ashore on a beach in the state of Victoria. However, it soon became clear that it was a girl – Mikaloo was a boy. In the native language, the name means “white duck”. Purely white specimens are extremely rare. Only a few albino whales have been documented. Mikalo is probably the world’s most famous humpback whale, and he has his own website.
