Excitement guaranteed. The second Apple keynote this year will take place at 7pm CST. The WWDC Developer Conference has traditionally been about software, but new tools are sure to come this year. What exactly and with what features – this is not clear more than it has been for a long time.
Apple’s secrecy worked well in April when many more products were introduced than expected: Colorful iMacs, Airtags, the new iPad Pro, as well as the Apple TV Streaming Box.
There is also speculation now. We say what is expected. And report here from 7pm CST with a live ticker on all the news and all the features.
New features for iPhone
Traditionally, Apple chief Tim Cook (60) introduces the new features of the software, which will be available in the fall for all iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. For example, iOS 15 for iPhone – we are currently in iOS 14.5.
The new iPhone operating system likely won’t fundamentally change after gadgets were only enabled for the first time last year. Fans now hope that these will become more interactive. For example, you can set the alarm directly in the widget and not first open the app via the widget.
You should also set the lock screen with notifications. This would make them smarter, such as automatically muting them when they sleep. User can quickly pre-set categories: mode for meeting, driving, sleep, work, sports, etc.
It’s also safe to update iMessage with more automatic response options and better features. Apple hopes to get even stronger WhatsApp swipe To be able to take advantage.
The iPad is seeing the biggest changes
The innovations for the iPad should be more visible. First of all, there are several modifications to the iPhone which inexplicably have not yet been implemented with iPadOS 14. So you weren’t able to put the widgets anywhere you wanted, which is likely to change.
The iPad’s home screen will likely see some other changes as well, as experts call it the biggest change in years. The big question is whether Apple allows for more multitasking. So you can really work with multiple windows open at the same time and keep these processes running in the background.
The new iPad Pro in particular, which has the same processor as MacBooks, was pre-built for this. There may also be photo or video editing software, which can be more or less depending on the iPad variant. The range from the entry-level iPad for 350 francs to models with the M1 chip is a whopping 879 francs.
A new design for the MacBook Air – or a high-end laptop?
When it comes to hardware, there are two possibilities of what could happen. Many speculate that Apple will develop the M1 further and bring out a better and faster M2 chip. It can also support more than 16 GB of RAM.
A suitable device for this would be the MacBook Pro with a 16-inch screen, which is also used by many developers. And in fact, the WWDC is dedicated to them. The question then is whether there will be a new design for the Pro and other new features. For example, a magnetic power connector as in the past and like the new iMac. On the other hand, TouchBar will likely be gone for good.
Previous M1 MacBooks are kept in the old design, and an update is also expected this year. There are rumors that the Air is acquiring a new look, and most of all bright colors – similar to iMacs.
Last but not least, there are rumors about HomeOS. In other words, an operating system that can replace the Apple TV and HomePod operating systems.
Today at 7 pm we know more. Apple is good for surprises this year, and a new M2 chip may be presented, along with new Pro models with a new design and at the same time a new Air with the M1 chip. And what was different at Apple about a year ago now: Advertised products can no longer be ordered immediately, but sometimes it can take months for the first deliveries to take place.
