The United States and NATO turn Ukraine into a "powder keg"

WDH / Poland begins training of Abrams main battle tanks from the USA

Warsaw Poland received its first main battle tank out of a total of 366 Abrams tanks from the United States. Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak wrote on Twitter on Tuesday that 28 used tanks had arrived at a training center for the Polish army. Soldiers training will start soon. “We will be ready when the first of the 250 new tanks we have ordered arrives.”

In April, Poland and the United States agreed to purchase new M1A2 Abrams tanks in the amount of more than four billion euros, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2023. In addition, the country will receive 116 used Abrams tanks. They are used for training, but also replace the old tanks of Soviet design, which Poland transported to Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia, as weapons aid.

Blaszczak announced in Warsaw that Poland will add the US Patriot air defense system and Turkish Bayraktar drones to its arsenal later this year. The eastern member of the European Union and NATO considers itself a close partner of the United States, and is also one of Ukraine’s most active military and political supporters.
