Georgios Spanodakis has extended his contract with the regional soccer team SV Wacker Burghausen for another two years until 2023. The midfielder, who trained at Barcelona’s world-famous youth center (“La Masia”), has not changed until the 2019 season which has now been canceled. / 2021 from SV Sandhausen to Salzach.
Since his move, the 22-year-old has played all seven possible matches (three in the Regional League and four in the League Cup) and scored two goals head-to-head. “Georgios is a player with good technical experience and we are delighted that he will continue to wear the SV Walker shirt over the next two years. Above all, his understanding of the game and his general outlook make him a valuable player for us at Headquarters,” explains Karl Heinz Fink, Sports Director of Burghausen FC, saying “The contract extension is also an important step in the team’s planning for the upcoming 2021/2022 season.” Spanodakis says he feels very comfortable at home in Burghausen: “This is why it was an easy decision for me to extend my contract. In the short term, our goal now is to reach the quarter-finals of the Toto Cup.” In the long run, he wants to play with SVW “in the next few years in the regional league”. – red
