Volkswagen wants to sell 80 percent of e-cars in Europe by 2030

Berlin. Volkswagen wants to increase its e-car sales in Europe faster than previously planned. “In 2030, at least 80 percent of all vehicles delivered in Europe must be fully electric,” said Thomas Ulbrich, member of the Board of Directors for the brand, at Automobilwoche. Two years ago, Volkswagen set a target of 70 percent.

The group’s flagship brand delivered 330,000 all-electric vehicles worldwide last year, accounting for 7 percent of total sales. According to “Automobilwoche”, in Europe it is just over ten percent.
Olbrich described the new target as “very ambitious”. According to the information, VW still aims to achieve 50 percent share of e-cars in China and the USA.
