Venezuela expresses its commitment to the rights of youth before the UN

UN Speaking at the Youth Forum of the Economic and Social Council, Venezuelan Minister Mervyn Maldonado stressed the general policies imposed by the Bolivarian administration aimed at creating opportunities for this population, focusing on the enjoyment of human rights.

The youth and sports leader highlighted the importance of youth as agents of social change in the wake of the Govt-19 epidemic, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

In this sense, Moldonado stressed that despite the impact of unilateral coercion by the United States against the South American nation, all these efforts are being made.

He denounced the economic suffocation measures adopted by Washington as dramatically affecting young people and seeking to reduce the development and social inclusion policies designed by the Venezuelan government.

The Venezuelan Minister added that the global crisis caused by the Govt-19 epidemic should become an opportunity to re-enhance diversity, solidarity and cooperation, as well as global coordination to achieve sustainable development goals without delay.
