Vacation in Thuringia: this place is experiencing a real boom

Erfurt. Summer vacation is coming to an end Thuringia It is slowly coming to an end – but the great weather still attracts many vacationers to the Free State.

Camping in particular seems to be getting more and more popular, especially near the lake. Benefiting from this is also a small square on the outskirts of the state capital Thuringia. But that was out of the question last year.

Vacation in Thuringia: this place is something very special

Thuringia has had a so-called pop-up camping site since summer 2021. At the Alperstedter See, more than 50 plots of land with electricity have been rented out to tourists – but only for a short time.

There is no permanent campground in the camp on the outskirts of Erfurt. Despite this, the business is booming. “The Girl to Go for Everything,” Mandy Ruckup told MDR Thuringia that the venue is pretty much booked out until the end of summer vacation.

Locals and day tourists also benefit from this: since the camp site is right on the lake, many visitors naturally wanted to jump in the water – but until recently this was strictly forbidden. In the meantime, the operator has been able to assert itself, and even DLRG Thüringen is now watching the water splash into Lake Alperstedt over the weekend. (MBI)
