USA: Ken Black with the further upgraded i20 WRC / Rallye

After driving the Subaru Impreza at the US Championships last year, Ken Black will take the wheel of the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC this new season.

Previously operated by Pierre-Louis Loubet at WRC, this Hyundai was nothing more than a two-season team-field debacle. The responsibility for this car still lies with the French team, and Hyundai will oversee this unprecedented adventure in the United States.

To keep the performance of these Hyundai cars at a reasonable level as compared to the regular American Championship cars, the weight of these Hyundai has been voluntarily increased, while the electronic variants have been replaced by mechanical ones. Controls for engine supercharging have also been used, and championship organizers are free to further balance performance through other activities if necessary.

In addition to being refurbished with this new car, Ken Black will mention having his family. His daughter (15 years old) comes with his wife to drive the Ford Fiesta Rally 3 and Ford Fiesta R2T from the Hounigan Racing Division team.

The Black family competes in the inaugural 100 Acre Wood Rally on Gravel in Missouri this weekend.
