With version 7.39, AVM fixes, among other things, problems configuring VPN connections via IPSec and in combination with Wireguard. There are also bug fixes for several UI bugs and minor improvements. The Full patch notes It can be found on the official website of the manufacturer.

To install the update, download the appropriate file for your Fritzbox from the manufacturer’s website. Then follow these steps to complete the installation:

  • Call up your Fritzbox user interface and click View: Advanced.
  • Select “System/Update” and then “FRITZ! OS File”.
  • Back up your personal router settings.
  • Then enter the name of the update lab including the file path in the input field (eg “C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Desktop\FRITZ!Box-Labor-xxxx.image”).
  • Click the Start Update button and follow the on-screen instructions.

Keep in mind that lab updates are beta versions, which may cause crashes during operation. To go back to the regular FritzOS version, simply click the associated button under System -> Update -> FRITZ! OS version.
