District A League
reading time
Just like the first leg at Stadtlohn, the rescheduled second leg at Südstraße ended 2-1, only this time with Wessumer. With one game less, Union are three points behind leaders FC Oding. Stadlowner is still in tenth place.
With the match still on edge at midday, it finally got a run in Wissum’s side yard. All three goals came between the 23rd and 34th minutes, although UEFA had previously failed to finish some consistently good attacks.
So a criterion was needed: Union defense chief Hendrik Rose headed the ball over the goal line to make it 1-0. Stadtlohner reported again five minutes later. Lucas Kirkeling used noise in the Wissum penalty area to make it 1-1. Before the break, however, the hosts scored the winning goal: Lacey Eiseman drowned in a Bogra Gones cross to make it 2-1. In the second half, almost nothing happened in front of both goals before Hendrik Rose missed a penalty in extra time.
“It was annoying that we didn’t put the cap on earlier today. Overall, we are happy with the three points,” commented Wisum coach Izet Günes.
