How does drawing work?
The teams are divided into 4 pots. Pot 1 contains the defending champions, the UEFA Europa League winner, and the champions of the six top-ranked countries; The decision to occupy pots 2 through 4 is made by Club coefficient arrangement.
No team can be played against an opponent from its association. More restrictions will be announced before the draw.
If individual associations have two representatives in the race, the respective teams’ matches will be distributed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If there are four (or more) reps, there will be two (or three) matches on each of the two days. The basis for this is TV viewership numbers, and confirmation is made before the draw.
