Trump responds to the investigation committee with a letter of anger
Former US President Donald Trump denied in a multi-page document the allegations of the investigative committee about the storming of the US Capitol.

Donald Trump, 75, accused the commission on Monday night of making a “joke of justice” and ruling out acquitting witnesses. In the 12-page letter, which also contains a number of footnotes, Trump reiterated his baseless allegations of election fraud and fantasies of her winning the election.
He accused Democrats and US President Joe Biden, 79, of destroying the country. “The Democrats (…) are doing everything they can to stop me – but we can’t be stopped,” she said.
Trump ‘lost contact with reality’
At the inquiry’s second plenary session on Monday, several high-ranking people from Trump’s environment vehemently opposed his allegations of voter fraud. It is clear that former members of the government and campaign advisers have distanced themselves from Trump’s actions.
Former Attorney General William Barr, 72, and others have called Trump’s fraud allegations “crazy.” Barr said Trump “increasingly lost touch with reality.”
Trump to this day claims without any evidence that he was denied victory in the 2020 presidential election due to electoral fraud. Resistance to the election results culminated in the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, which the Congressional Committee of Inquiry is working on.
Ivanka Trump also contradicted her father
For months, the investigative committee interviewed hundreds of witnesses behind closed doors — including Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, 40 — and reviewed vast amounts of documents and evidence. Ivanka Trump has also distanced herself from her father’s view.

The commission is now revealing its findings in a series of public hearings. Some close to Trump, such as former chief strategist Steve Bannon (68), have refused to cooperate with the committee. (SDA)
