Jordi Quintilla’s new employer is called FC Basel. The former FCSG captain signs for a three-year term.
Quintella’s departure from FC St Gallen has been known since March. It is now clear who the former captain of eastern Switzerland will go to in search of goals next season: the 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract with FC Basel.
The Spaniard was quoted by the new employer as saying he wanted to “take the next step in my career”. “Bayern is a big club, in recent years I’ve seen as a competitor how good he is in this team.”
Quintella came to Switzerland from Puerto Rico Football Club in 2018. The midfielder had previously played in Spain, France and the USA with Sporting Kansas City.
The competition is taking over another leader
From St. Gallen’s view, the change represents déjà vu: a year ago “Espen” with Silvan Hefti had to let their leader go. He turned into Master YB.
