This was not what Tim Weiss imagined on Saturday evening in Bremen. Instead of celebrating Hamburg SV’s derby win with his former club Werder, he has to watch Bremen lose 2-0 – and get kicked out of the VIP box on top of that!
What happened? Wiese appears with three of his Weserstadion buddies and, according to “Bild,” visits a friend’s playground chest.
“A lie to the power of ten!”
According to information received from the club from Werder Bremen, it was said that he “bypassed the referees and gained access to the relevant stadium area”.
Even this statement upset Wiese powerfully. He explains: “This is a lie for the power of 10. Cheek. No one checked me out!”
Werder’s media director explains: “Tim Wiese wanted to move from VIP Club South to VIP Club North after the match, which the concept of hygiene does not allow. He ignored relevant information. His behavior was unacceptable.”
So an employee at the stadium called security. The hosts tried to kick Wiese and his companions out of the box. There were arguments and quarrels, in which Wiese was said not to participate. Then he ran away. And it foams!
“I felt like a leper”
Wiese: “The campaign fit the game and the club. Just funny. I felt like a leper!”
The former German goalkeeper (14 internationals) is now tired of his former club. He no longer wants to go to the stadium and believes that his constant criticism of those responsible for Bremen is the reason for his expulsion.
“Maybe Werder has a problem with me because I expressed myself critically,” Wiese says in “Bild”. “I don’t want to go there at the moment. That’s too ridiculous for me. First, they beat the club, they went down, they lost the derby and in the end it’s still a lie.” (WST)
