“This is the place for me”

(Motorsport-Total.com) – Brad Bender will compete for KTM in MotoGP until 2024. And so the South African and Austrian brand continues a long collaboration. He drove Bender to KTM for nearly his entire career.

Brad Bender has been initially for KTM without a break since 2015

From 2009 to 2011, the 25-year-old learned to trade in the Junior Cup. 2011 saw the first use of Aprilia in the 125cc class. Bender has been a World Championship fixture since 2012. In his first full season he was riding RW-Racing’s Kalex-KTM.

He then moved to Team Ambrogio in 2013 and initially drove a Sutter Honda until the team switched to Mahindra in the summer. In 2014, Bender achieved his first podium finish with Mahindra. His talent was noticed by Aki Ajo, who brought him to the KTM team for 2015.

In 2016, Bender was the confident Moto3 World Champion. Two years of Moto2 on the KTM team followed. He finished this in third and second place in the World Cup. Binder has been racing in MotoGP since 2020. He was able to win his third race on the spot and give KTM its first win.

“I am very happy that I will be staying with KTM until the end of 2024,” says Bender. “That’s another three years from now on. It’s so amazing! Thank you so much to KTM and Red Bull for trusting me. I’m really looking forward to a good and strong future together.”

“It was always clear to me that I didn’t want to go anywhere else and I knew I wanted to stay here in the coming years,” stressed the South African. “I’ve never thought of worrying. Of course, it’s good that the contract is done.”

In the first instance, contracts are usually concluded for a period of two years. Three extraordinary years. KTM and Binder are long-term planning and want to get to the top together: “I’ve been with KTM for a long time. They’re clearly making progress.”

“I have a feeling there is still a lot to come. This is where I want to be. So it’s great to have a three-year contract.” Bender is currently ninth in the World Championships after seven races of the season.
