Brussels America has produced very different presidents – but a degree of vanity unites all. Even Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Biden never thought of shouting “Make America Great Again” like his predecessor did, but his agenda is similarly indecent. With no less a promise to save democracy – not just in America, but around the world.
During the campaign, Biden had already announced that he would invite leaders of the democratic world to Washington for their pledge to contain authoritarian forces at home and abroad. It’s time next week on the 9th and 10th of December. Where: It wouldn’t be a big red carpet summit waving flags. Because of the pandemic, Biden will have to make do with a video conference on his historic mission.
