Unlike Ukraine, where the U.S. president has rejected military involvement, the United States is openly prepared for anything: when asked recently if the United States would militarily defend the island state in the event of a Chinese attack, he replied: “Yes, we have a duty.”

The White House has promised that US policy of so-called “strategic ambiguity” will not change. Accordingly, the United States supports Taiwan, but deliberately opens up its reaction to China’s attack on Taiwan.
