Rinat Akhmetov (55 years old) is one of the most powerful Ukrainian businessmen and politicians. With a fortune of $7 billion, Akhmetov is considered the richest person in Ukraine. He is also considered the most powerful oligarch in the country. Akhmetov calls an empire worth billions of dollars his own. In addition to the steel company Metinvest, he also owns the Shakhtar Donetsk football club.
Akhmedov is now suing Russia. The reason for this was the devastating attack on its mineral plants in Mariupol, which were razed to the ground by Russian forces. “We will certainly sue Russia and demand compensation for all losses and lost companies,” he says in an interview. This was reported by “Bild Zeitung”.

$20 billion in damage
He is seeking damages ranging between $17 and $20 billion. He wants to file a lawsuit before several national and international courts.
Akhmetov announced that he would file a case before all international and national courts. It is uncertain whether, even if he wins in court, he will receive one dollar from Russia.
A planned coup against Zelensky?
Surprisingly, the oligarchy is now suing Russia. Until recently, it was considered a friend of Russia. In November, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, 44, said Akhmedov was plotting a coup against him. Funded by Russia. (pbe)
