The PS5 release of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has been postponed

Unfortunately, “Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2” will be released later for PlayStation 5. CI Games is not announcing a new date.

CI Games announced today that the PS5 release of “Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2” will be delayed to a later release in 2021 due to unexpected technical issues discovered in the weeks leading up to its release. This has no bearing on the release date of the other platforms. The shooter will be released on June 4, 2021 as planned for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC. The company said, “CI Games is very confident in the behavior of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 on these other platforms and has a very experienced team working hard to ensure that the PS5 version meets similar high standards.”

As a symbol of goodwill and in light of this news, CI Games has decided to offer its first major expansion (new, expansive card with brand new contracts) free to players on all platforms, including PlayStation 5. The extension is currently in development. More news about the DLC release will follow soon.

Additionally, both digital and physical PS4 releases come with a free downloadable upgrade to the PS5 version that can be downloaded at release. This is to ensure that PS5 owners can continue to purchase and play the game on June 4, 2021. PS5 players will also benefit from the Day One update, as they can play the PS4 version of “Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2” in 4K. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 takes advantage of native 4K resolution, improved texture and graphics, and shorter SSD load times on next-generation consoles.
