The Czech Republic and the United States are cooperating to fight disinformation

The United States and the Czech Republic intend to work more closely together to combat disinformation campaigns in the future. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and his Czech counterpart Jan Lipavsky signed a memorandum in Prague on Thursday.

In this context, Lipavsky referred to recent revelations about the pro-Russian propaganda network “Voice of Europe”, which placed his country on the national sanctions list.

Blinken stressed that the memorandum makes it possible to effectively combat misinformation and disinformation. These are “the poison our enemies inject into our democracy”.

Lipovsky said the Kremlin is targeting democracies around the world with cyberwarfare, propaganda and influence operations. We must face these threats together. The European Union has now joined the sanctions against the “Voice of Europe” platform.

Blinken is in Prague until this Friday to attend an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers. 20 years after joining NATO, the Czech Republic is making an important contribution and replenishing the defense alliance with “life and substance”, the US Secretary of State stressed.
