The Swiss curlers around Skip Silvana Trinsoni start the Olympics with a valuable victory. In the extra end they beat Great Britain 6: 5.

In the battle between the world champions of Switzerland and similarly strong European champions of Scotland, all that was important took place in the second half after a balanced start around the skip eve Muerhead. Melanie Barbezat, Esther Neuenschwander, Silvana Tirinzoni and Alina Pätz had to accept the house of the first two at the end of the 6th, after which a stone was stolen and it was 2: 4.

Thanks to their own two at the end of the 8th, they were back in the game. For further conclusion they had to allow the English to take advantage of the last stone. But at the crucial moment they were able to steal a stone.

From 1pm Swiss time on Thursday afternoon, the Swiss team will play its second of nine round-robin matches against China.
