Thanks to Frankfurt pro Hrustic: Australia look forward to World Cup ticket to Qatar, beating United Arab Emirates

Thanks to the goals of two professionals earning their living in Germany, Australia saved their chance to participate in the World Cup in Qatar at the end of the year. The Australians beat the United Arab Emirates 2-1 (0-0) in the Asian Qualifiers on Tuesday evening at Ar-Rayyan.

Jackson Irwin of St. Bali’s second division gave Australia the lead (53rd minute); Kayo Caneto equalized shortly after (57th). After missing a few chances, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ajdin Hrustik (84th) scored for the happy-go-lucky Soccerus in the end.

On June 13, the Australians will face Peru – the fifth in the South American qualifiers – in the 31st Continental final of 32 World Cup tickets. This is Australia’s sixth World Cup appearance since 1974, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 – and the fifth in a row.
