Badusa and Tomljanovic confiscated

Spaniard Paula Badosa (WTA 11) and Australian Ajla Tomljanovic (WTA 35) canceled their participation shortly before the start of the Australian Open due to injury. Badosa has a muscle injury while Tomljanovic, the best Australian player in the world, has a knee problem. Leolia Jeanjean (FRA) and Laura Pigossi (BRA) inherit their spot on home plate as “lucky losers”.

Finally Stosser draws a line

Samantha Stosur will play her last tennis tournament at the Australian Open on Monday. The 38-year-old Australian competes in doubles and mixed doubles. Stosur won the US Open in 2011 and was a finalist at the 2010 French Open. Overall, she won 9 titles in singles and 28 in doubles. Stosur did not play singles for a year.
