Hüsler competes with Yibing Wu

Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 82) – the only Swiss to be included directly on the main board of the Geneva Open (ATP 250) – meets Yibing Wu (ATP 57) in the first round. It will be the first duel with the Chinese No. 1 left man from Zurich. Norway’s Casper Ruud (ATP 4), two-time Geneva champion and number one on the seed list, is enjoying a farewell in the last 16. Next, his opponent is either Hugo Dillín (ATP 157) from Bolivia or JJ Wolf (ATP 54) from the United States.

Second doping case against Halep

Former world number one Simona Halep has to face a second doping action. The Romanian, who has been suspended since October, is accused by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) of another breach of doping rules. The charge related to irregularities in the athlete’s biological passport. Halep was temporarily banned after a positive doping test at the US Open in August 2022. According to ITIA, the 31-year-old was found to have the banned substance FG-4592 (roxadustat) in his A and B samples. The Romanian has always denied the allegations.
