In May, Telekom increased internet speed to 119,000 households. Here are more numbers
In May 2021, Telekom increased the maximum internet speed available to 119,000 households, Telekom announced on Friday. The number of households that can surf the Telekom network by at least 100 Mbps has increased to a total of 34.2 million households.
Tariffs of up to 250 Mbps can be reserved for approximately 26 million households. Households with access to a pure fiber optic connection rose by 40,000 to 2.3 million in May 2021. Surfing speeds of up to 1 Gbps (the equivalent of 1,000 Mbps) are possible here.
Since the beginning of the year, according to Telekom, 882,000 households have benefited from Telekom’s broadband expansion.
“The numbers show that we are the engine of broadband in Germany – for terrestrial and mobile communications,” explains Walter Goldenitz, Managing Director of Technology at Telekom Deutschland. “We’re providing fast internet to millions and not full speed to very few. And we’re doing it with the best network quality.”
